HOW IT WORKS / HTML + LOCAL EDITOR

Your website.
You can do this.

Change the words and photos in your browser. Save your website, then upload it to your own hosting account. We’ll walk you through each step.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

No coding required.
A few things to manage.

You’ll keep your editing file, create a hosting account and upload each update. Publishing is a separate step after editing.

This guide describes our standalone template workflow. Current packages are review candidates and sales are not open. Check the individual product’s requirements before purchase.

A computer

Edit on a desktop or laptop in Chrome or Safari. Your finished website also works on phones.

Your business details

Have your words, photos and contact information ready. Keep a private copy of your edited file.

Your hosting account

Hosting keeps your site online. Our guide uses Netlify. A custom domain is optional to start.

YOUR FIRST WEBSITE, STEP BY STEP

From download to a web address.

Explore the steps before you buy.

STEP 1 OF 4

Open your template in your browser.

When sales open, download your template ZIP from My purchases. A ZIP is a folder packed into one file. Unzip it on your computer, then open the getting-started guide.

  1. 1Use a desktop or laptop. Keep the downloaded folder somewhere easy to find.
  2. 2Open START-HERE.html, then choose Open your editor. It opens in your browser.
  3. 3If you see code instead of a page, right-click the file and choose Open With → Chrome or Safari.

WHEN SOMETHING CHANGES

Same website.
Fresh words and photos.

You don’t start over. Keep the same hosting project and web address.

  1. 1. Open your latest private file.
Use the file ending EDIT-KEEP-PRIVATE.html. It holds your saved text, photos and editor.
  2. 2. Make changes and save both files again.
Keep the new private file, then download a new PUBLISH.zip. Keep the previous copy until your update is checked.
  3. 3. Upload to the existing Netlify project.
Open that project’s Deploys or Production deploys area and upload the new public file there. Don’t create a new project. Refresh your web address to check the update.

OPTIONAL / YOUR OWN WEB ADDRESS

Start online.
Add your domain later.

A domain is an address such as yourbusiness.com. You can use your Netlify address first.

When you’re ready, add a domain you own in the same project’s Domain management. Follow the host’s instructions to connect it where you bought your domain.

The guide explains the process, but the exact settings depend on your provider. If that domain already runs a website or email, check with your provider before changing its settings.

Domain setup is the most technical step. Your domain or hosting provider can help with their settings. Connecting it on your behalf is outside CG Templates support.

KNOW WHAT YOU’RE PAYING FOR

The template, hosting and domain are separate.

Template

The editor and website files are included in the package. There is no CG Templates editor subscription. Product prices and final purchase terms are still under review.

Hosting

Paid directly to your host if your plan requires it. Netlify offers a Free plan with usage limits. Traffic and publishing use your allowance; free hosting is not an unlimited guarantee.

Domain · optional

Purchased and renewed separately through your domain provider. You can start with the web address supplied by your host.

A few practical questions.

Will my changes go online automatically?

No. Editing changes your private file and preview. Save a new publishing ZIP and upload it to your existing hosting project when you want visitors to see the update.

Which file should I upload?

Only the file ending PUBLISH.zip, or the index.html folder extracted from that ZIP. Never upload the complete product folder, private editable HTML or backup file.

Do I need GitHub, Lovable or ChatGPT?

No developer or AI account is needed for this editing workflow. The planned purchase flow uses a CG Templates account, and the publishing guide uses your separate Netlify account.

Can I edit from my phone?

The finished website is responsive, but the editor and file-saving workflow are intended for a desktop or laptop. Phone-only editing is not a supported workflow for these candidates.

What if I lose my editing file?

Open your latest private backup. A compatible JSON backup can be loaded into the editor. The public website ZIP does not replace your editing file, and CG Templates cannot recover changes stored only on your computer.

Does it include bookings, payments or contact forms?

These are single-page business websites with a fixed layout. Email buttons open a visitor’s email app. You can add a link to your own booking or form service, but its account, costs and setup are separate.

Who can help if I get stuck?

CG Templates covers basic use of the supplied guide/editor and defects in the purchased version. Custom design, copywriting, hosting administration and domain setup on your behalf are excluded. Your hosting provider handles account, billing and domain connection issues.

Publishing guidance checked on 19 October 2026 against Netlify’s official instructions. Provider screens and plans can change. Your package includes its own detailed guide.
